The article reveals the significance of associative maps as a modern innovative and aesthetic tool in preschool education. The authors emphasize that an associative map serves not only as an effective means of visualizing knowledge but also as an artistic space where thinking, emotion, and beauty are harmoniously combined. The study highlights the role of associative maps in developing speech, logical and critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills in children. Particular attention is given to the aesthetic dimension of designing such maps: the selection of illustrations based on the laws of composition, rhythm, balance, and color harmony, which ensures the visual and emotional comfort of perception for preschoolers.
It is noted that a carefully designed composition and a balanced color palette help children not only understand educational material better but also develop an artistic sensibility, a sense of harmony, and emotional sensitivity. Associative maps are considered as an effective means of aesthetic education that integrates cognitive, developmental, and value-based components. The article presents an algorithm for creating maps using both hand-made materials and digital tools (PowerPoint), compares their advantages and limitations, and provides examples of practical implementation within the “Confident Start”educational system.
The practical section includes examples of classes that integrate associative maps into various educational activities (linguistic, cognitive, and artistic). A case study of the map “The Yard” demonstrates the synthesis of aesthetic composition and cognitive development. The use of associative maps promotes individualized learning, stimulates curiosity, and encourages preschoolers to perceive beauty in everyday life.
The authors conclude that associative maps in modern preschool settings represent a synthesis of pedagogy, psychology, and art. They not only enhance intellectual and communicative competencies but also enrich children’s emotional and aesthetic experience, shaping a holistic and harmonious worldview.
