REQUIREMENTS FOR MANUSCRIPTS AND SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

General Provisions

The editorial policy of the journal Art and Education is focused on publishing high-quality research in the fields of art education, art pedagogy, and interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of education and culture.

The journal adheres to the principles of academic integrity, publication ethics, and internationally recognized standards of scholarly publishing.

Submitted manuscripts are expected to demonstrate scientific originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

By submitting a manuscript to the journal “Art and Education”, the author(s) agree to the publication of the material under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:

  • the work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere;
  • the manuscript falls within the scope of the journal;
  • principles of academic integrity have been observed;
  • the level of textual similarity is within acceptable limits (recommended originality threshold: at least 80%);
  • all sources are properly cited.

Authors are solely responsible for the accuracy of data, validity of results, and integrity of the content. Any form of plagiarism constitutes grounds for rejection.

If artificial intelligence tools are used, authors must disclose this in a note, specifying the tool and the purpose of its use. The use of such tools does not diminish the author’s responsibility for the content.

The editorial board reserves the right to perform scientific and language editing of submitted manuscripts.

Structure and Content Requirements

Manuscripts are expected to include the following elements:

  • Introduction (problem statement and its relevance);
  • Literature review (analysis of recent research and identification of gaps);
  • Purpose of the study;
  • Main body (presentation and justification of results);
  • Conclusions;
  • Future research directions.

Additional sections (e.g., methodology, results, discussion) may be included where appropriate.

The manuscript should be clear, coherent, and concise. All terms and abbreviations must be defined at first use.

Length and Formatting

  • length: 10–12 pages (up to 14 pages for senior researchers);
  • file format: Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx);
  • font: Times New Roman, 14 pt;
  • line spacing: 1.5;
  • margins: 2 cm;
  • paragraph indent: 1 cm.

Manuscript Formatting

The manuscript must include:

  • UDC index;
  • author information (full name, academic degree, position, affiliation, city, country, ORCID ID, e-mail);
  • article title;
  • abstract (500–700 characters) and keywords (5–7 items);
  • main text;
  • reference list;
  • References (Latin script, international format);
  • extended abstract in English (1800–2000 characters) and keywords.

For co-authored papers (up to four authors), individual contributions should be specified.

Citation and References

In-text citations should follow the format:[1, p. 25], [2; 5], [3, p. 45; 7, p. 12].

The reference list should:

  • include recent and relevant sources;
  • contain up to 15 entries;
  • be arranged alphabetically;
  • include international sources;
  • provide DOI where available.

A References section formatted according to APA style is required.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables:

  • should be placed after their first mention;
  • must be numbered;
  • must include captions;
  • should be of high quality (minimum 300 dpi).

Submission Procedure

The following materials should be submitted to the editorial office:

  • Аn electronic version of the manuscript;
  • Аbstracts and keywords in Ukrainian and English;
  • Аuthor details in Ukrainian and English;
  • А signed author statement.

Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal’s online submission system after registering on the journal’s website.

Review and Publication

All scientific articles undergo a double-blind peer review procedure.

Average timelines:

  • initial screening – up to 7 working days;
  • peer review – from 14 to 30 working days;
  • publication – up to 90 working days.

Revised manuscripts are considered submitted on the date of resubmission.
