PUBLICATION ETHICS

General Principles

The editorial policy of the journal “Art and Education” is based on internationally recognized standards of publication ethics, in particular the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics, as well as the principles of the World Association of Medical Editors and the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment.
The Editorial Board proceeds from the understanding that scholarly publication is the result of responsible intellectual activity grounded in the principles of integrity, transparency, and respect for the academic community. All editorial decisions are made independently—without influence from founders, financial, or political factors—and are based solely on the scholarly merit of the submitted work.
The Editorial Board ensures an impartial evaluation of manuscripts, confidentiality at all stages of the editorial process, and equal treatment of all authors regardless of their institutional affiliation, nationality, or other characteristics.
Any forms of academic misconduct—including plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, as well as citation manipulation—are considered unacceptable and constitute grounds for rejection or retraction of the manuscript.
The journal also adheres to a principled position of refusing cooperation with institutions affiliated with the aggressor state and the Republic of Belarus; such submissions are not considered, and individuals representing such institutions are not involved in the editorial process.

Participants in the Editorial Process

Ethical standards apply to all participants in the editorial process, including authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher.
The Editorial Board organizes independent peer review and ensures transparency in decision-making procedures. All disputes, appeals, and cases of potential misconduct are handled in accordance with established procedures and in line with COPE recommendations.

Author Responsibilities

Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their submissions, the accuracy of the data presented, and the correctness of their interpretations.
Submission of a manuscript implies that the work is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration elsewhere. Authors are required to properly cite all sources, avoid any form of plagiarism or duplicate publication, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
If significant errors are identified in published work, authors must promptly notify the Editorial Board and cooperate in correcting them.

Authorship

Authorship should be based on a substantial scholarly contribution to the research. Only those individuals who have directly contributed to the conception of the study, data analysis and interpretation, manuscript preparation, and approval of the final version may be listed as authors.
Individuals who do not meet these criteria should not be included as co-authors.

Peer Review

Peer review is a mandatory stage of the editorial process and is carried out by independent experts in the relevant field. Reviewers are expected to adhere to the principles of objectivity, confidentiality, and academic integrity, to refrain from using information obtained through peer review for personal advantage, and to report any suspected ethical violations.

Conflict of Interest

All participants in the editorial process must disclose any circumstances that could affect the objectivity of manuscript evaluation or the interpretation of research findings. In the event of a conflict of interest, the individual concerned must withdraw from the review or decision-making process.

Ethical Compliance and Responsibility

The Editorial Board carefully considers all cases of potential violations of publication ethics and takes appropriate actions, including rejection of manuscripts, publication of corrections, or retraction of articles.
All decisions are made in accordance with international guidelines and best practices in academic integrity.
