Creating an image in the technique of oil painting by pupils in art studios

The article reveals the author’s pedagogical experience of working with schoolchildren of primary and main school in creating works in oil painting technique based on art studio at general secondary education institution. The author artistic considers materials necessary for an emerging artist to paint compositions with oil paints (canvas, brushes, paints, solvents), as well as the features of their selecting in specialized stores of artistic creativity, preparation for painting of the image, features of work with them.
There are several ways how to create paintings by students with oil paints under the conditions of pedagogical support of the head of the hobby club: single layered image – a la prima (primary schoolchildren), multiple layered image (main and high school students). The attention is focused on the necessity of preparatory training with primary schoolchildren preceding the drawing with oil paints: mastering the method of “a la prima” (single layer painting) used watercolour and gouache paints, which will help to develop the pupils’ techniques in oil painting in correct technical and psychological ways.
The stages of creating the works on fantastic themes by primary schoolchildren, landscape and still life – by pupils of primary and high school have been presented. Moreover, the teacher’s methodological explanations related to the sequence how to create the image by pupils, selection of colours and formation of their shades during work have been offered. The article is illustrated with pictures of the pupils of art studios guided by the author of the article.
