The creative heritage of Petro Skazkiv in the context of forming the ethnocultural identity of schoolchildren in the Carpathian region

The article deals with the creative heritage of Petro Skazkiv in the context of forming the ethnocultural identity of schoolchildren in the Carpathian region. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing importance of preserving regional cultural traditions and integrating folk instrumental heritage into the modern educational process under conditions of globalization and transformation of the cultural space. Particular attention is paid to the pedagogical potential of Hutsul musical traditions as a means of developing students’ emotional-value attitude toward national culture and cultural self-identification.
The study analyzes the peculiarities of Petro Skazkiv’s creative activity as a representative of contemporary folk instrumental art, combining authentic Hutsul performing traditions with modern stage and media forms of artistic presentation. It is emphasized that the artist’s performing style was characterized by improvisationality, rhythmic variability, emotional expressiveness, and the synthesis of traditional folk manner with contemporary scenic interpretation.
Special attention is paid to the pedagogical dimension of Petro Skazkiv’s activity. His creative work is considered as an important factor in preserving and actualizing regional musical culture in the educational environment. The article substantiates the expediency of using the artist’s creative achievements in school music education through audiovisual materials, analysis of instrumental compositions, collective music-making, and rhythmic improvisation.
Pedagogical observations conducted in educational institutions of the Ivano-Frankivsk region demonstrated increased students’ interest in folk instrumental music, regional cultural heritage, and traditional musical instruments. The study concludes that Petro Skazkiv’s creative heritage has significant educational potential in shaping schoolchildren’s ethnocultural identity and popularizing national musical heritage among the younger generation.
