Abstract

In the context of the issue of analyzing and interpreting artworks with students, the article presents an indicative algorithm for analyzing artwork in grades 5-7 during art lessons in the integrated course “Art”. This algorithm has been developed considering the age-related characteristics of adolescents and is proposed as a basis for organizing students’ independent research and creative activities during lessons.

Some examples are provided of how the algorithm can be applied to analyze the same artwork in grades 5, 6, and 7, in accordance with the topics studied in fine art lessons in the integrated course “Art” and the didactic tasks of specific lessons. Methodological recommendations are also given for organizing the perception, analysis, interpretation, and discussion of works of painting (landscape, still life, portrait (self-portrait), and genre scenes) with students in grades 5-7.

It has been concluded that the analysis of artworks in grades 5-7 not only deepens students’ understanding of art but also fosters the development of a holistic personality capable of creative self-expression. Moreover, it promotes the development of students’ aesthetic taste, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and creative abilities. The authors highlight the importance of the teacher’s methodological guidance during the analysis of art by students, helping them to uncover the meaning, idea, and artistic expression of the work, establish interdisciplinary connections, and complete creative tasks using artificial intelligence, making the analysis process engaging and exciting.

A promising area for future research is using the developed algorithm for analyzing and interpreting sculpture, architecture, and decorative arts. Other interesting topics for further exploration include the application of knowledge from other subjects during art analysis and studying the influence of art analysis on the development of students’ creativity and emotional intelligence.
