Teaching students to decorate household items with tavrian painting in hobby clubs

The article reveals the features of Tavrian decorative painting as a hallmark of southern Ukraine, highlighting the symbols, colours, and meanings characteristic of this art form. Historical information is provided regarding the discovery, research, and popularization of this painting style at the national and international levels.
The author recommends teaching Tavrian painting techniques to students in general secondary and out-of-school education and guiding students aged 10-15 in decorating wooden jewellery boxes using this method.
The conclusions emphasize the importance of engaging students with this painting tradition by familiarizing them with decorative and applied artworks by renowned Ukrainian masters and creating items decorated with Tavrian designs. This is crucial for helping students appreciate the values of their region and Ukraine, with its unique decorative and applied arts centers, and for fostering national identity. The author also provides recommendations on introducing students to the art of Tavrian painting, explaining its unique characteristics, teaching them to distinguish it from other styles, and involving them in creating their own works using elements of Tavrian painting.
