The article examines the concept of music therapy, which is one of the oldest applied forms of using art in society and takes on a unique format in the 21st century. The intensive development of music therapy technologies in the socio-cultural space allows us to talk about the prospects of this direction in the framework of solving the main issues of restorative medicine. One of the effective ways to overcome problems in the educational space is using technologies that create comfortable objective and subjective conditions for emotional and psychological self-regulation, ensure the person’s emotional stability, prevent the syndrome of “emotional burnout” and is an essential factor in achieving success in education, development and professional activity.
The scientific and methodical literature analysis made it possible to determine music therapy specialists’ professional training model. It was also determined that implementing music therapy into the content of modern university education in Europe and the USA is the most effective mechanism for solving these issues because music therapy is the same means of influencing a person, aimed at preserving and restoring his psychological health. The universities of Europe and the USA prepare specialists and students, who can regulate physical, emotional, and psychological states, relieve tension and fatigue, resist stressful situations, and help other members of modern society to use the possibilities of music therapy effectively. The article states that when modeling the professional training of music therapists, it is necessary to adhere to the following system principles: developing theoretical knowledge, social competence, professional qualities, and practical skills and abilities. Using music therapy in the modern university space contributes to solving the identified problems, for which it is necessary to implement: highly qualified training of personnel in music therapy, as well as to introduce educational projects and programs of universities in Europe and the USA into the educational process of Ukraine.
The prospects for developing music therapy are to expand and unify the information space. Interaction between specialists in the artistic direction, doctors, psychologists, and teachers should guarantee success in establishing and recognizing music therapy as a sanogenetic technology on the scale of social society. This will provide new opportunities for the conscious use of sound as the basis of the considered healing method.
The article provides examples of the experience of introducing the profession of music therapist in the universities of Europe and the USA. This will allow a deeper study of the model of professional training of specialists and further prospects for implementing this profession in Ukraine.
