Topiary Art at Lessons of Artistic Culture

Abstract

The article deals with the formation of the skills of senior students in the analysis of the main stylistic trends of historical objects of garden architecture, as well as their influence on modern concepts of landscape architecture. Modern lesson of artistic culture is the basis of a pedagogical system of formation of high school students’ conscious artistic and aesthetic attitude towards art. In addition, modern lesson of artistic culture develops the students’ sense of success from their own achievements in the field of artistic culture, the ability to solve artistic tasks independently. Recommendations on the structure and organization of lesson in the 11 grade “Foreign Art Culture. Park Culture in Europe” in secondary school will help to expand the teachers’ perceptions on the varieties of forms and methods that attract senior students to search, in particular, heuristic conversation, artistic story, slide presentation and other group forms.

The author summarizes the information on development of gardens and parks, their compositional techniques including social and natural conditions, which are useful to work with students at lessons of artistic culture and during self-study. Teachers are offered the works of contemporary art, which are the best examples of landscape architecture, to discuss with students. In conclusion, lessons of artistic culture develop holistic, emotional and in-depth analysis of art works, promote students’ awareness of their own involvement in the traditions of their nation and respect for other cultures, stimulate the creative expression of students and their communication on the themes of art.
