Master’s Level of Higher Education as a Basis for Professional Development of Future Professionals of Music

The article analyzes domestic and foreign studies on the problems of training of teachers of higher education through the master’s degree. The aspect of professional development of future masters of music in higher educational institutions of Ukraine has been specified. The scientific approaches to the essence of phenomenon of “professional development” have been considered. The author defines professional development in the general pedagogical as a process of formation of a subject of vocational and pedagogical activities who is able to self-development and creation of his/her own pedagogical system.
Professional development of future masters of music in higher educational institutions of Ukraine takes place in the context of innovative changes in the system of higher education. It was provided by normative documents of the educational sector – in particular, the State Standard of Higher Education of Ukraine and implemented by educational and professional programs of training specialists in the specialty “Music” in higher education institutions.
The possibilities of professional development of masters of music in the national higher artistic education, which are determined by a wider and democratic interpretation of general and professional competences of future specialists, their dynamism and interaction; integrity and complexity of the professional training of future masters; giving the student freedom to choose the dominant form of artistic activity.
