Introducing of senior students with the Ukrainian architectural modern (by the example of the Poltava region)

The article is devoted to the aspect of study of Ukrainian national symbols in architecture at Art lessons. The author offers the example of stylistic features of architectural modern Ukrainian in the Poltava region in order to introduce senior schoolchildren with it. The author presents the photos of monuments of Poltava architecture, built in the style of the Ukrainian architectural modern and gives brief information about them.
The teaching material is divided into two initial hours, presented by different forms of work. One hour involves student’s virtual tours of houses and buildings of Poltava region, as well as their analysis and the establishment of senior schoolchildren stylistic features form of buildings and constructions, namely roofs, towers, gables, windows, doors, niches, columns, brackets, spires, decoration. The author uses method of comparing the stylistic architectural features of Ukrainian architectural modern and hut, built in the traditions of national construction. The second hour is used to create the own facade of building in the style of the Ukrainian architectural modern with regional Poltava features by the students with the help of a graphic plane designer.
