Abstract

The article lights up the variant of methods of schoolchildren’s attraction to the art of theatre. Now at school only one – sided learning of drama art has been proposed –as a retro-index. It reduces pupils’ motivation to this kind of art.

We propose to study plays in Continious (Progressive) Tense which means continuity, accents moments of life which are actual today. Continuum is an uninterrupted connotation which demonstrates non-formal layer of the play, ideas of which show different aspects according to definite time and area. In this case retro-index gradually will transfer to the index of active real schoolchildren’s complicity to “gold fund” of the drama.

The author gives examples of such work with the plays of I.Kocherga “Yaroslav Mudryi” and M.Kulish “Myna Masaylo” and “Peoples’ Malahiy”. The accent has been done on the modern sounding of these plays, for example, love to Motherland, honoring the Law (I.Kocherga), on the problem of Ukrainization, non – educated officials, brainless believe to slogans (M.Kulish) etc.

The article shows the use of the given material in connection between the lessons of art and history, art and literature.

Elucidated for themselves the main phenomenon’s of Ukrainian society the pupils will have a possibility to understand not only the peculiarities of spiritual surrounding of the years when the play had been written, but to conduct analogies with today’s life. That’s why the learning of drama plays “here – and – now” is very important for schoolchildren’s world outlook and their feelings.
