Students of the New Ukrainian School as the bearers of “new literacy” and subjects of the educational process

The article is devoted to the phenomenon of “new literacy”, which determines the essential changes in school education of the XXI century. Some psychophysiological peculiarities of behavior of students as bearers of such literacy and subjects of the educational process, which are characterized by clip thinking, speech disorders, short-term memory, decrease of the level of cognitive development and level of development of the role-play, as well as lack of need for live communication and propensity to autism. These hyperactive children are impatient, and inconsiderate, on the other hand, they have a tendency to multitasking and using their knowledge in practice.
Theoretical concepts have been analyzed in order to determine the possible teacher’s actions in the conditions of the New Ukrainian School. Specific methodology, learning techniques and learning technologies that can be used by teachers to develop a strategy and tactics of competence- and activity-based lesson, have been proposed, namely: game technologies, “storytelling”, eidetic, “event learning”, “interdisciplinary immersion”, Singapore methods of education, technology “Bring your own device” (BYOD), technology of “blended learning”, “bricolage”. The author emphasizes that it is very important for the 21st-century teacher to take into account the mentioned features of students’ behavior and to teach modern children skills required for their future life.
