The stage embraced the 1st semester of studying at a music school (work-shops of a general educational institution) and included working with students on the mechanisms of natural sound formation, the formation of sound skills, singing posture and singing breath.

During the cognitive-developing stage (2nd and 3rd semester of study), adolescents seized knowledge, skills and experience in the field of vocal and jazz performances and practiced in their use. The teacher sought to work on the means of musical expression by students in musical works. The formation of a sense of jazz style among schoolchildren was contributed by a holistic analysis of pieces which were learned, revealing their literary characteristics and genre features.

At the performing-creative stage, students were involved in concerts, contests, festivals so that they could show their vocal and creative personality. The skill to navigate the characteristic features of jazz music helped to reveal the ideas of a musical composition during its performance.
